The Bean Path


In 2018, Dr. Nashlie Sephus, an Amazon AI scientist and STEM entrepreneur, founded The Bean Path, a non-profit organization based in Jackson, MS, to provide small businesses and entrepreneurs advice and guidance to sow technical expertise and help bridge the tech gap. To date, The Bean Path has provided more than $8,000 in scholarships and grants to small businesses, nonprofits, and high school students. 

Dr. Sephus is deeply committed to diversity and inclusion in the technology industry and in technological advancements and has received various accolades for her outstanding work, including: 

  • Women in Tech - Software Engineering Award, Lookfar’s Ada Lovelace Awards (2019) 
  • Young Alumni Award, Mississippi State University’s  Bagley College of Engineering (2019) 
  • Young Leadership Award, National GEM Consortium (2018) 
  • Innovator of the Year Award, Patty Peck Honda,  Young Gifted & Empowered Awards (2018)

Trust Relations was hired as the sole PR agency to drive media relations and secure top-tier placements. 


Trust Relations leveraged Dr. Sephus’ extensive background and expertise to position her as a thought leader in the technology industry. As part of the media push, Trust Relations secured coverage for Dr. Sephus and The Bean Path in the following publications: Inc., MarketWatch, E-Channel News, Spectrum, Black Star News, Clarion Ledger and more. 

At its close, the campaign generated more than 253,119,805 impressions.
